No. 4 — Boston Celtics

If you are looking for more long-shot odds in regards to pursuing James Harden, look no further than the Boston Celtics. Over the years, we have come to realize that the Celtics’ front-office are always looking to make big moves and going after Harden would certainly be league-altering.

Boston’s depth is definitely a concerning problem that they will need to address at the trade deadline this season if they are to be real threats in the Eastern Conference, but their main problem through the years that has held them back from advancing to the NBA FInals is the fact that they have had inconsistent play in their backcourt.

Kemba Walker, Kyrie Irving and now both Marcus Smart and Dennis Schroder have had their fair share of problems leading the backcourt for this team and while Walker and Irving were both All-Stars, they just did not fit in with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

The two Celtics’ All-Stars are two of the best rising stars in the league right now and while Boston may very well have to trade Jaylen Brown in a deal to acquire James Harden, pairing Harden with Tatum is a very intriguing scenario.

Jayson Tatum has cemented himself as one of the best wing scorers in this league at only 23-years-old and with a former league MVP like James Harden, Boston could suddenly have everything they need on the offensive-end of the floor to get back to the NBA Finals.

Again, this is just a hypothetical scenario, but outside of the Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers, the Boston Celtics are definitely a team to keep tabs on in regards to James Harden.
