This Knicks-Rockets Trade Features Kevin Porter Jr. To NYC

The New York Knicks surprised a lot of people during the 2020-21 NBA season when they earned the No. 4 seed in the Eastern Conference and home-court advantage in the first round. This season, however, they aren’t surprising people and it has been a bit of a struggle.

New York no longer has that hard-nosed defensive identity that they possessed last season. They are unable to get stops consistently, opponents are taking full advantage and it is reflected in their performance thus far.

The Knicks are currently 23-25, a half-game behind the Washington Wizards for 10th place in the conference, which is also the last spot to qualify for the NBA Play-In Tournament. If they want to push toward a spot outside of that, as they are five games behind the sixth-place Philadelphia 76ers, they need to shake things up on their roster.

New York made their first move of the season, acquiring Cam Reddish from the Atlanta Hawks, along with Solomon Hill, in exchange for Kevin Knox II and first-round pick via the Charlotte Hornets with some protections on it.
