Potential Trade Targets For Philadelphia 76ers

Blazers’ Damian Lillard and Wizards’ Bradley Beal have been mentioned as two names in the past that Morey and the Sixers’ front-office would jump on in trade talks, but now Nets’ All-Star and former league MVP James Harden is the key name being brought up in regards to the Philadelphia 76ers.

Harden was traded to Brooklyn last season from the Houston Rockets for a massive return that ultimately resulted in the Nets shipping out Jarrett Allen, Caris LeVert, Taurean Prince, Rodions Kurucs, three first-round picks and four first-round pick swaps.

At the time of this massive trade, the Rockets also fielded offers from the Philadelphia 76ers and the Miami Heat for the former league MVP, but Harden wanted to be traded to Brooklyn so he could play with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving in search of a championship.

Philadelphia’s pursuit of James Harden is not surprising given his relationship with Daryl Morey and the idea of playing with Joel Embiid could certainly be appeasing to Harden.

However, sources have told NBA Analysis Network that the Nets have no plans whatsoever to entertain trade offers for James Harden at the trade deadline this season and they are going to do everything they can to agree to terms on a new long-term deal to keep Harden in Brooklyn.

The 76ers’ drama with Ben Simmons remains relevant heading into the trade deadline this season and there does not appear to be any end in sight. It appears as if Ben Simmons is going to be staying in Philadelphia this season and the team will continue talking with teams around the league to try and get a deal done in the offseason.
