Would this trade make sense for the Memphis Grizzlies?

This trade would give the Memphis Grizzlies another scoring threat, as well as a two-way player to give them perimeter depth. Hayward is an immediate upgrade over Anderson, albeit a much more expensive one. However, he is under contract for two more years than Anderson.

Giving Morant as much help as possible on the perimeter is the way to go for Memphis. His playstyle is so explosive and paint-focused that putting great shooting around him is key. Hayward shoots 39.1 percent from beyond the arc.

Losing Adams and Anderson probably won’t hurt as much as some may think. However, they have Jaren Jackson Jr. and Xavier Tillman to cover the center position, for the most part. As for Anderson, Hayward would be an immediate replacement at that position.

There were rumors that Anderson could be available for trade this past offseason, and getting Adams was merely a by-product of trading up in the draft. Neither of these players looks to be a core part of Memphis’ future.
