Where Could Caris LeVert End Up?

Joining the Indiana Pacers as part of the James Harden to Brooklyn trade last season, Caris LeVert has continued to showcase his abilities as a playmaker and scorer on the wing. Since joining Indiana last season, Caris LeVert has averaged 19.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 1.3 steals and has shot 44% from the floor.

The only problem with LeVert though is the fact that he has shot 33.3% from deep over the course of his career and is only shooting 31.3% from three-point range this season. Not being much of a perimeter threat could lessen his trade value, but there are some teams that have shown interest in the 27-year-old.

Sources have told NBA Analysis Network that the Hawks, Cavaliers and Knicks have all expressed interest in Caris LeVert, but teams have had nothing more than preliminary trade talks surrounding him.

According to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, Indiana’s asking price for LeVert is a first-round pick and a good young player.

Being owed $17.5M this season and then $18.8M next season, Caris LeVert also has a very movable contract in trade talks and could provide immediate value to a playoff contending team ahead of him becoming an unrestricted free agent in 2023.

The Pacers are in no position to win as a franchise right now and with them very likely to miss the playoffs, it may be worth trading away assets and taking a step back in order to build for the future. In doing so, both Myles Turner and Caris LeVert could be on the move to new teams come February 10.
