How This Deal Impacts Indiana Pacers
The Indiana Pacers are in a bit of a quagmire. The team is not performing up to standards, but they are not going to go into a full teardown and rebuild. As a result, they could look to restock on the fly, trading some of their veterans.
One of the veterans rumored as being available is Myles Turner. He is someone that is garnering a ton of attention on the trade market and has been available for a long time. Now, they are finally cashing in on that value.
While some teams may be able to offer draft compensation, the Charlotte Hornets are offering them a chance at landing two young, high-upside players. P.J. Washington lost his starting spot to Miles Bridges but could find himself in the starting lineup alongside Domantas Sabonis.
James Bouknight could have a huge role as well depending on what happens with Caris LeVert. If he is traded as well, Bouknight would step into a significant role right from the jump. Given what he has shown in the G League, the Pacers would be getting a nice long-term option for their backcourt.

Mason Plumlee is included in the deal to help match salary, but he has proven he can be a serviceable player. He can produce either as a starter or coming off the bench, whatever the Pacers would need.
While getting draft picks would be ideal for their veterans, receiving two lottery picks in Bouknight and Washington should make up for the lack of draft compensation.
