Does this trade make sense for the Dallas Mavericks?

The Mavericks are going to be “buyers” at the trade deadline and they are surely going to need to add more talent to their roster if they are to have a shot of taking down the likes of the Suns, Warriors, Jazz and/or Grizzlies in the Western Conference playoffs.

Luka Doncic cannot carry this team on his own and while Kristaps Porzingis and Tim Hardaway Jr. have stepped up from time-to-time, they have been inconsistent options for the Mavs offensively.

Dallas has lost in the first-round of the playoffs each of the last two seasons and with how top-heavy the Western Conference is this season, they really do not have the talent to match up with the top teams in this conference.

Adding more talent to this team is a must, but it is hard to imagine a world in which Serge Ibaka makes a huge difference for Dallas. They do not need another frontcourt piece and this $10.8M TPE that they have could be very valuable in terms of adding another scoring talent.

Who said talent could be is a big question mark, but Serge Ibaka is definitely not someone that the Mavericks need, nor should they want to add ahead of the trade deadline.
