Philadelphia 76ers Receive: G De’Aaron Fox, G Buddy Hield, F/C Marvin Bagley III, F Maurice Harkless
Sacramento Kings Receive: G/F Ben Simmons, F Tobias Harris
There have been reports that the Philadelphia 76ers are now looking to attach Tobias Harris to Ben Simmons in trade talks centered around him. Attaching Harris, who signed a five-year, $180 million deal in the 2019 offseason, would certainly change the kind of packages the team can expect.
In this hypothetical deal with the Sacramento Kings, that is exactly what happens. The 76ers can convince them to part ways with De’Aaron Fox, but a lot more needs to be included to match salary.
Fox fits the mold of the high-upside young player Daryl Morey is looking for, but it is anyone’s guess if he is on the 76ers’ list. Buddy Hield provides Philadelphia with another deadly shooter to pair with Seth Curry and Danny Green in the backcourt.
Marvin Bagley III and Maurice Harkless will struggle to find minutes in a crowded 76ers frontcourt and wing rotation but could help soak up some of the playing time left with Harris’ departure.

Because they are also taking on Harris’ contract, the Kings are not surrendering a draft pick in this exchange. Philadelphia cannot expect to get any draft compensation if they are landing the player they covet in Fox.
Philadelphia has big plans in mind that are motivating them to look to move on from Harris as well. They could become a serious player for James Harden if they can unload Harris’ contract in a deal along with Simmons.
