Would this trade make sense for the Indiana Pacers?
This is a no-brainer for the Indiana Pacers. After announcing the desire to sell assets and reset earlier this year, Simmons should be at the top of their trade board. The 6-11 point guard is only 25 years old and could be a franchise cornerstone for Indiana to build around.
Ideally, any team that looks to build around Simmons should prioritize putting as much shooting as possible around him. The team that would be competing alongside him in Indiana would provide the young star exactly that.
Malcolm Brogdon is, historically, one of the most efficient shooters in the NBA. Although he’s having a down year this season, the Pacers should have some faith that he’ll turn it around eventually. Brogdon’s the perfect guard any team would love to pair alongside Simmons.
Meanwhile, Myles Turner would be the best center possible to play with Simmons. He’s spent his whole career with Joel Embiid – a paint-dominant big man. With Turner, he’d have a big man more than willing to let Simmons control the paint and drive without it being constantly clogged.

Overall, a trade like this one would be the perfect move to shake things up in Indiana. The Pacers have been mediocre for far too long, and adding a former number one overall pick with a skillset like Simmons’ could be franchise-altering.
