Would this trade make sense for the Indiana Pacers?

The Indiana Pacers are in a rough spot as a franchise right now. The team has invested heavily in the position many consider to be the least valuable while having the third worst record in the Eastern Conference.

Caris LeVert is another name that has found himself in trade rumors given how Chris Duarte has played as a rookie. Turner remains quite likely to be dealt, too.

It seems clear that Domantas Sabonis is valued as a franchise-cornerstone—often being a centerpiece of the offense. While Myles Turner is pivotal to the defense, the Pacers organization has to choose one and embrace an identity either way.

The Pacers need to deal with Turner’s contract status at some point. They are capped off at what they can offer on an extension and if he wants to seek a larger role, it seems unwise for him to sign a deal. With his current contract ending in 2022-23, it makes sense to move him if he’s not a long-term answer.
