2. Atlanta Hawks For John Collins
The Atlanta Hawks are a team primed to make a move. They have a lot of good, talented young players on the roster, but their general manager, Travis Schlenk, sounds like he is ready to make a trade.
Atlanta has a few pieces they could consolidate to build a package around. A player like Jaylen Brown could be a strong fit alongside Trae Young, but it would be costly to get him. While this package may be lacking an All-Star heading back to Boston, it would bring a ton of upside.
John Collins is the exact kind of big man the Boston Celtics have been looking for. He is versatile playing both frontcourt spots, can spread the floor offensively and plays above the rim with thunderous dunks and rim protection.
Boston could ask for some combination of Cam Reddish, De’Andre Hunter and Onyeka Okongwu back in return along with Collins.

All have high ceilings that could intrigue the Celtics. Draft compensation could also be on the table along with other veterans the Hawks have reportedly shown interest in moving, such as Danilo Gallinari.
That would be a solid haul for the Celtics to get back. They could begin reaffirming their identity as a defensive-minded team with that package of players, setting Jayson Tatum up as the clear alpha dog.
