Indiana Pacers Receive: G Kemba Walker, C Mitchell Robinson, NYK 2024 1st Round Pick (Top-10 Protected, then Top-5 Protected in 2025, if not conveyed, then NYK 2025 and 2026 2nd Round Picks to IND)
New York Knicks Receive: C Myles Turner, F Kenrich Williams
Oklahoma City Thunder Receive: F Kevin Knox II, NYK 2022 2nd Round Pick (Top-45 Protected)

Trying to trade for Myles Turner would not be an easy thing for the New York Knicks to do. They are well under the tax line for this season and have moveable contracts, but the Indiana Pacers have not really said what they would want for any of their core players in a trade.

One can assume that they would want young talents and draft picks, but the Knicks may not want to trade away Obi Toppin or Immanuel Quickley, their two best youthful talents. However, they could be willing to give up Mitchell Robinson, who is in the final year of his contract.

Now in his fourth season with the New York Knicks, Mitchell Robinson has averaged 7.5 points, 8.1 rebounds, 1.7 blocks and has shot 76.5% from the floor.

His shooting percentage is definitely eye-opening, but Robinson has been inconsistent over the years and has had trouble remaining on the floor due to injuries.

The Pacers may not be willing to take a chance on him, especially since he is up for a new contract at the conclusion of this season, but he is only 23-years-old and could be a young center the Pacers can build with as part of their rebuild.

Kemba Walker is not someone the Indiana Pacers would probably want to take back in a trade, but in order to acquire Myles Turner, the Knicks would have to cut ties with one of their players making over $8M per year. R.J. Barrett is not an option, nor is Alec Burks or Derrick Rose, leaving Kemba as the only player that would make sense to trade.

He is a veteran and has concerns attached to him about his knee injuries, but Kemba Walker may be willing to step into a “sixth-man” type of role, similar to that of Derrick Rose after all of his knee injuries. The Pacers have a need for a backup guard behind Malcolm Brogdon right now with T.J. McConnell being out, so maybe bringing in the former All-Star is not such a bad idea after all.

As for Oklahoma City, they are in a position where they are strictly building for the future right now. They have been competitive and are 13-23 on the season, but this team is only competing for a high lottery pick in the 2022 NBA Draft.

Kevin Knox is a young talent that maybe they could find something in, but overall, they would only be interested in this trade because they can move Kenrich Williams for an immediate 2022 second-round pick.

Adding Myles Turner is certainly a move that the New York Knicks front-office would show interest in ahead of this season’s trade deadline, but it is hard to imagine that the Indiana Pacers would not want a lot of value in return for him.
