Isaiah Thomas – Free Agent*
*Isaiah Thomas recently signed a 10-day hardship contract with the Dallas Mavericks
He may only be 5’9” and may have been the last pick of the 2011 NBA Draft, but Isaiah Thomas is a terrific basketball player. Following his MVP-like season with the Boston Celtics during the 2016-17 season, Thomas was dealing with a hip injury and was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Kyrie Irving.
After just 15 games in Cleveland, Thomas was traded again to the Los Angeles Lakers, where he only played in a total of 17 games. Since then, the 2x All-Star guard has bounced around the league and has recently played for the Lakers and Mavericks this season.
Currently on a 10-day hardship contract with the Mavericks, Isaiah Thomas would be a perfect addition for this Cavaliers team because he fits their demeanor. All his career, Thomas has been a guy that teams often bypass and he has always had to play with a chip-on-his-shoulder.
This is what drives the Cavs and given the opportunity to play for the team that once had him before, Isaiah Thomas could really thrive as a leader for this young group.

He is not going to be the same All-Star point guard he was in the past, but he is a steady offensive threat with the ball in his hands.
Isaiah Thomas has shown flashes of his potential still when he was with the Los Angeles Lakers last week and it will be interesting to see if the Mavericks intend to utilize him at all while they have him on a 10-day deal.
Knowing what it takes to win, Isaiah Thomas can score in many different ways and is a willing passer, which is why he would be a great free agent signing for the Cleveland Cavaliers to replace Sexton and Rubio this season.
Another name that is worth mentioning is Jeff Teague. After winning a championship with the Bucks last season, the veteran guard has not played since and is currently a free agent.
