Finding a trade partner and getting back impactful value is a tall task. However, parting ways with Anthony Davis could help the Lakers immediately and in the long term.
A player like Jaylen Brown would never be available in a deal centered around Westbrook, but there is a chance that he could be acquired for Davis. Landing him would give the Lakers a long-term building block, which they envisioned would be Davis.

The two first-round draft picks are also a good get for the Lakers. They are lacking in draft capital and that would help them restock there to make other deals. If the team became desperate enough, they could attach one of the picks to move Russell Westbrook as well.
