Indiana Pacers Receive: G De’Aaron Fox, F/C Marvin Bagley III
Sacramento Kings Receive: F/C Domantas Sabonis, G Jeremy Lamb, F Torrey Craig, 2026 First-Round Pick

In an NBA trade scenario from HoopsHype’s Jack Simone, the Indiana Pacers would land both De’Aaron Fox and Marvin Bagley III while sending out Domantas Sabonis along with Jeremy Lamb, Torrey Craig, and a future first-round pick.

Fox is playing in the first year of a five-year contract extension that has him signed through 2025-26. He is earning $28.1 million in 2021-22 and will make $163 million total on the deal. For a Pacers team that isn’t a free agency destination, having a long-term deal already in place is essential.

There has been no shortage of controversy surrounding Marvin Bagley III during his time with the Kings. While Luka Walton’s firing has seemingly helped him to get back into the rotation, the time with the franchise the No. 2 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft has spent has been rocky, to say the least.

Bagley III would be entering yet another logjam with the Pacers given that Myles Turner would assume the role as the foundational piece in the frontcourt if Sabonis were to be dealt.

Even if the Kings did decide they felt it would be best to trade De’Aaron Fox and embrace rebuilding around Tyrese Haliburton and Davion Mitchell, would the team want to move him for a return featuring a big man? Domantas Sabonis hasn’t been able to lead the Pacers to much winning success as a key cog in his own right.

Of course, that would be up to the Kings to decide. It does help that Sabonis earns just $18 million per season and he is signed through the 2023-24 season.

Let’s take a look at how this NBA trade scenario featuring De’Aaron Fox would impact both the Indiana Pacers and Sacramento Kings.
