How This Trade Impacts Charlotte Hornets
The Charlotte Hornets have an explosive offense, as they are ranked third in offensive rating according to Basketball-Reference.
Unfortunately, everything positive that they do on that end of the court is undone by how poor of a defensive team they are.
Charlotte currently has the worst defensive rating in the NBA at 115.3, giving them a net rating of -2.2, which is 22nd in the NBA. So, if the Hornets want any chance of making the postseason and creating some noise there, they must get things going defensively.
This trade with the Indiana Pacers would help them accomplish that. Myles Turner is an elite rim protector, blocking an NBA-best 2.9 shots per game. It would be the third time in the last four seasons that Turner led the league in blocks per game as there isn’t anyone better in the business doing it.

While that is where Turner earns his keep, he has taken strides offensively this season as well. In years past, Turner was relegated mostly to floating around the perimeter as Domantas Sabonis had a lot of the offense run through him.
This season, however, Turner has been able to expand his offense a little bit and the results have been magnificent. He is in the midst of the best shooting season in his career and wants a bigger role.

The Hornets can provide him that, as they would be a perfect fit for him. His presence would help them turn things around on defense, where they need the most help.
