Would this trade make sense for the LA Clippers?
The options were bleak for the LA Clippers when it came to adding talent at the point guard position in the offseason. The team has been limited with trade assets and salary cap room ever since pairing Kawhi Leonard and Paul George together.
Eric Bledsoe was the best option the Clippers could land at the time, to their estimation. However, with Kemba Walker potentially available as an option, would he be an upgrade?
There are clear concerns with Walker’s durability and defensive impact. However, his pull-up shooting ability using ball screens and handoffs coupled with his versatility as an off the catch threat are not easy to find in a player.
Again, the disparity in cost between Walker’s contract in 2022-23 compared to Bledsoe is certainly worth taking into consideration for the Clippers.

Walker would help the team to have the necessary offensive firepower that could come off the bench if needed. Perhaps he could fill a role like Derrick Rose has found with the New York Knicks as a sixth man? Or, filling the starting point guard spot as a complementary option is another option.
