LA Clippers Receive: G Kemba Walker
New York Knicks Receive: G Eric Bledsoe
The New York Knicks would be moving on from two players who have fallen out of favor with coach Tom Thibodeau while giving a new point guard a chance in Eric Bledsoe.
Bledsoe is earning $18.1 million this season and while he is due to receive just under $19.4 million next season, only $3.9 million of that is fully guaranteed. The Knicks could use the rest of the 2021-22 season to see if Bledsoe is a set and then move on in the offseason if not.
Kemba Walker is also signed through the 2022-23 season and will earn $9.1 million fully guaranteed in the final year of his deal.
For the Clippers, there are some concerns with both Eric Bledsoe and Kemba Walker as players. However, Walker at less than half the price of Bledsoe on the same contract length changes the landscape, to an extent.
