Does this trade make sense for the Charlotte Hornets?
The Charlotte Hornets backcourt seems fine with LaMelo Ball and Terry Rozier, as does the wing with Hayward and Bridges, but the one area this team really needs to try to add more talent to is in the frontcourt.
Jalen McDaniels, Nick Richards, Vernon Carey Jr., and P.J. Washington have all been draft choices of the Hornets through the years to try and improve their frontcourt, yet problems still exist.
Without a true shot-blocking center, this team is going to continue to struggle defensively, which is why going after Myles Turner would be a huge move for this team to make.
On the year, Turner is averaging 12.4 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.8 blocks (league-high), and is shooting 39.4% from three-point range, which is currently a career-high.

Myles Turner is one of the best defensive centers in the NBA today and has led the league in blocked shots per game in three of the last four seasons.
Looking like he is going to lead the league once again in blocked shots, Turner could very well find his name in the conversation for Defensive Player of the Year when all is said and done this season.
The Charlotte Hornets need a center like this and while they would have to sacrifice P.J. Washington to get him, this trade would pay off in the long-term for Charlotte.
With Bridges expected to receive a close to max contract from the Hornets in the offseason, they may not be able to keep Washington long-term anyways.

Having one more year on his rookie deal, P.J. Washington should be viewed as a rotational player for the Hornets and leveraging him for one of the best defensive big men in the entire NBA definitely makes this trade advantageous for Charlotte.
