Atlanta Hawks

Players Currently Out: Cam Reddish (Wrist), Solomon Hill (Hamstring), Bogdan Bogdanovic (ankle), De’Andre Hunter (Wrist)

Trae Young has continued to grow as a young All-Star in this league and is currently averaging 26.3 points, 9.4 assists and is shooting 45.6% from the floor, 39.2% from three-point range. Alongside John Collins and Clint Capela, Young has helped the Hawks get to a 13-12 record after starting the year 4-9, but a handful of their secondary talent is currently out.

Back on November 14, the Hawks announced that forward De’Andre Hunter suffered a wrist injury that turned out to be worse than expected and would require surgery that would keep him sidelined indefinitely for at least two months.

With Hunter out, the Hawks turned to Kevin Huerter, Bogdan Bogdanovic and Cam Reddish for production, but then Bogdanovic went down with a sprained ankle and Reddish suffered a wrist injury of his own.

Following both players undergoing MRIs, the Hawks announced on November 28 that Bogdanovic would miss two weeks with his ankle sprain and Reddish would be listed as game-to-game depending on how his injury feels.

Cam Reddish has missed the Hawks’ last four games, but he has been listed as questionable heading into each matchup. As for veteran forward Solomon Hill, he is not going to be back anytime soon after suffering a gruesome looking hamstring injury.

On 92.9 The Game on December 7, Hawks’ general manager Travis Schlenk said that Hill’s MRI confirmed that he had torn his hamstring off the bone and will be out “quite a while”. The short-handed Hawks have won 9 of their last 12 games, but as injuries continue to pile up for them, more weight is going to be put on the shoulders of Trae Young and John Collins to carry this NBA franchise.
