Sacramento Kings
They have missed the playoffs for 15 consecutive seasons, but the Sacramento Kings are currently 10-14 and fighting for a chance to at least earn a spot in the play-in tournament this season. Since firing Luka Walton, the Kings are 4-3 and slowly making improvements on both ends of the floor.
De’Aaron Fox has continued to play at a high-level, but the one thing that has made Sacramento better with Alvin Gentry calling the shots now is the fact that more guys are getting involved and most of the team looks like they are starting to have fun.
When you have a young team like the Kings do, getting guys involved and having a high team morale is essential because at the end of the day, all of these guys are still maturing and trying to make a name for themselves in the NBA.
Take a team like the Grizzlies for example. They too are a very young team, but the reason they have found more success than the Kings is not because of the veterans they have on their roster, it is because they are all willing to sacrifice individual goals for the greater good of the team.

It truly is starting to look like some of the Kings’ players are understanding this philosophy, which is why now is the time for them to invest in a guy like Domantas Sabonis.
Pairing him with Fox gives Sacramento two potential All-Star-level players to play through on offense and this trade would also allow them to get rid of some “baggage” on their roster.
The Kings looked to trade Buddy Hield and Marvin Bagley III in the offseason and with these two players not really wanting to be in Sacramento much longer, the Kings could just look to move them now for an All-Star in Sabonis.
Moving Hield, Bagley and some draft picks for Domantas Sabonis and Jeremy Lamb could pay off big time for the Kings not only making improvements on offense, but having a real shot to end their long playoff drought.

The Kings always find a way to screw things up, so they will likely do the same trying to get this deal done if it is on the table, but at least there is still a glimmer of hope for this franchise.
