Does this trade make sense for the Indiana Pacers?
Moving on from Myles Turner seems like something the Indiana Pacers have been destined to do for quite some time. He does fit into what they do defensively, but overall next to Sabonis and Brogdon, he is expendable to this team.
Turner is definitely not the difference in the Pacers having a shot to get back the playoff picture in the Eastern Conference this year and with his value being extremely high right now, they might as well put him on the trade market and try to get as much future value as they can for him right now.
The more and more the Pacers play and continue to lose, the closer they get to reaching the point where a full rebuild is going to occur.
We are not far away from this threshold and quite honestly, the team should try to see what they can get for everyone but Brogdon and Sabonis at this point.

Given how well teams in the Eastern Conference have played this season and the fact that the Pacers are just a couple of games in front of the Magic and Pistons for last-place in the East, it is hard to believe that this team will suddenly turn things around and make the play-in tournament, even if T.J. Warren returns to the court!
Maybe this is not the best trade the Pacers could get for Myles Turner, as Malik Beasley and Josh Okogie are nothing more than role players, but there is definitely a team out there in the NBA that would be willing to give up a key young talent, as well as one or two valuable draft picks for Turner.
Trading Myles Turner is something that is going to happen in the near future and if Indiana does not trade him, then they are only prolonging their failure of a season.
Turner is definitely not the one to blame for their horrid play, but he has the best contract to trade away and they can probably get the most value for him right now.
