Does this trade make sense for the Brooklyn Nets?

While Rondo and Ellington could definitely provide some stability for this Nets roster, there is really no reason for them to shake things up roster-wise right now. The Nets are 10-4 and the four teams they have lost to are all possible playoff/championship contenders this year in the Warriors, Heat, Bucks and Hornets.

Kevin Durant is an MVP candidate and with James Harden being the “do-it-all” guy for this team, there is nothing the Nets need to do to get better per se. With new guys like Patty Mills, Paul Millsap, LaMarcus Aldridge and others, it just takes time for this team to be the best version of themselves, especially with Kyrie Irving being out.

The Nets have ruled Irving out indefinitely since he is not vaccinated and with things not appearing to change in regards to NYC’s vaccine mandates anytime soon, Irving is prepared to sit out the entire season.

Maybe if Brooklyn is to make a trade, it will be involving Kyrie Irving that way they can get rid of the outside noise and unwanted drama, but overall, there is no reason for this team to make a significant move.

Seeing as the Nets have some trade exceptions, including a $11.4M TPE from moving Spencer Dinwiddie to the Wizards in the offseason, they could possibly look to upgrade their depth at the trade deadline, but there is no reason for this team to rush a decision on guys like Jevon Carter and DeAndre’ Bembry, especially for two veterans from the Los Angeles Lakers.
