Does this trade make sense for the Los Angeles Lakers?

The Los Angeles Lakers just need guys who are physical, tough, and not afraid of anyone in the league. Both Jevon Carter and DeAndre’ Bembry play with this kind of “grit” and both guys could step up in any capacity for this Lakers team.

Dwight Howard is a really physical player for them and Talen Horton-Tucker shows promise to be this kind of player, but the rest of this roster really does not have much to them anymore.

LeBron, AD and Westbrook have enough on their plates as the main scorers and facilitators for this team and secondary talents like Carmelo Anthony, Malik Monk and Kent Bazemore are not really known to be physical forces anymore.

Trevor Ariza will help this team improve defensively when he returns from injury, but he is not expected to return until sometime closer to January. Defense has always been a strength of the Lakers through the years, but so far this season, they rank 14th in defensive rating and 27th in opponent’s points per game.

Finding ways to tighten up their defense needs to be a priority and as they get healthy, things will definitely get better. However, they need tough-minded players on their bench and they currently do not have this since Alex Caruso is now in Chicago.

Jevon Carter and DeAndre’ Bembry are both very physical defenders and could bring some energy to this older Los Angeles roster. Moving two bench players who will not hold much of a role when this team is at full strength for two players who can be impactful on defense when their number is called could definitely make sense for the Los Angeles Lakers.
