MVP race is Stephen Curry’s to lose this season
What Stephen Curry has done over the last few seasons is just remarkable and it seems like he is getting better as he gets older. Last night against the Brooklyn Nets, it seemed like every shot Curry was taking was going to go in and he just casually had another 37 point night.
Along with 37 points, Curry finished 12-19 from the floor, 9-14 from three-point range, and added 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, and a block to his stat-line. We all know what Steph Curry can do on offense, as he is the best shooter of all time, but it is his impact on the defensive end of the floor that is really making a difference for this team.
While he did lead the league in steals per game during the 2015-16 season, Stephen Curry has never really been seen as an impactful defender, and earlier in his career, teams would look to target him in switches with their best players.
Now, Curry is beginning to guard numerous positions and finding a lot of success doing so because he knows that he has the help of guys like Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala on his side.

The way the Warriors move around the floor defensively makes it seem like they have 7 guys out there on the court at times and no team in the league has been able to solve this puzzle yet.
Obviously, everything defensively starts with Green and him barking out orders from the paint like a quarterback dropping under center, but Stephen Curry has been the first line of defense for this team and has been spectacular.
Last night, he even stepped in front of James Harden on the drive to try and draw a charge! How many teams can say that their best player puts himself in these kinds of situations for his team?
In his last five games, Curry is now averaging 35.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 7.2 assists, 2.2 steals, 0.8 blocks and is shooting 51.4% from the floor, 45.8% from three-point range. There is nothing Steph Curry cannot do for this Warriors team and nobody around the league has had an answer for him this season.
