Does this trade make sense for the Chicago Bulls?

With Patrick Williams healthy, the Chicago Bulls had him, Derrick Jones Jr., and Javonte Green on the wing. Overall, this is not much depth in terms of scoring on the wing, which is why it is even more critical now that the Bulls pursue another wing with Williams being out indefinitely.

Derrick Jones Jr. and Javonte Green are not two players that will make a huge difference in the Bulls playoff push this season, but Cam Reddish definitely can. Between his ability to score and being a decent defender as well, Reddish would fit in perfectly next to the likes of LaVine, DeRozan, and others in Chicago’s attack.

Troy Brown Jr. and Alize Johnson are nothing more than bench players for this team, which is why the Bulls should be more than willing to trade them for an impactful player like Reddish. Giving up more draft picks leaves the Bulls thin in terms of draft assets over the years, but this is a team that has the makings of being a championship contender.

Right now, the Bulls rank 11th in the league in offensive rating and they rank 7th in the league in defensive rating. This team is no joke and already picking up big wins over the likes of the Clippers, Jazz and Nets, this team is only going to get better as they continue to develop chemistry with one another.

The addition of Cam Reddish would give the Bulls another three-point shooting threat and seeing as their bench currently ranks 28th in the league in points per game, the Hawks’ forward would immediately become the Bulls’ best scoring option in their second unit.

There is no denying that Reddish would make a positive difference for this team, but the question that remains for Chicago is whether or not they have the assets to be able to acquire him. The Atlanta Hawks were wanting first-round value for him near the draft this past offseason, but they also wanted some key talents that could contribute right away, something the Chicago Bulls may not have to trade away currently.
