1. Charlotte Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets made a good move during the 2021 NBA Draft, acquiring Mason Plumlee from the Detroit Pistons to take over as their starting center. But, the team could use more help in the middle.

Plumlee is a solid player, but adding Jusuf Nurkic would help push the Charlotte Hornets rotation to another level. Nurkic has dealt with numerous injuries in recent years and is still working his way into shape. Pairing him with a center capable of playing significant minutes in Plumlee would be smart.

Nurkic would provide a little more of a scoring punch from the middle. Plumlee is averaging only 6.6 points per game and if you consider Bridges a small forward playing power forward, the team doesn’t have a single frontcourt player scoring double-digit points per game.

As things currently stand, the Charlotte Hornets don’t have a backup big man. Nick Richards is averaging only 8.7 minutes per game in 10 appearances as the team usually goes small off the bench.

Adding some more size to the mix could be a good idea. Jusuf Nurkic would provide the team with another big body in the middle, allowing them to use P.J. Washington more at power forward, which is his more natural position.
