Atlanta Hawks Started Slow Last Season

Getting back to who they are and the championship-level team they have been is going to be extremely important for the Hawks and the month of November is going to be a big-time for them to prove whether or not they are a real threat in the Eastern Conference again.

Let’s not forget that this team was 14-20 at one point last season and quickly turned things around with Nate McMillan. They have the talent and capability to do the same thing again, which is why we should not count out the Hawks just yet.

Every team finds “bumps in the road” over the course of an 82-game season and maybe it is a good thing that the Hawks are dealing with adversity this early on.

Of course, they would like to be winning games and not have the narrative in their locker room be about losing, but some playoff teams from the previous season do struggle early on in the year, especially after making it as far as they did.

“We’re no longer the hunters. It’s the regular season,” Young said, per The Athletic’s Chris Kirschner. “I’m not going to lie, it’s a lot more boring than the playoffs. You got to find that motivation to play like the playoffs.”

“We have to figure out who’s going to sacrifice for this team to win. It’s all about winning at the end of the day. If you win, everyone eats,” Trae Young went on to say.

With Trae Young, John Collins, Clint Capela, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Danilo Gallinari, Kevin Hureter and so many other positive factors on their roster, it is surprising to see the Hawks start off as slow as they have, but it is inevitable that this team will turn things around.

They are too talented of a team to be “bottom-feeders” in the Eastern Conference standings, which is why getting home and being able to play in front of their fans and sleep in their own beds at night is going to be very important.
