Marvin Bagley III – Sacramento Kings
Trying to break their 15-year playoff drought, the Sacramento Kings look better than last season, but they will likely have to try and make the playoffs without Marvin Bagley III. Drafted 2nd overall in 2018, Bagley has played well when he has been on the floor, but he has missed close to 50% of the Kings’ total games since they drafted him.
Now, after not trading him in the offseason, not offering him a contract extension, and keeping him out of the rotations, the young power-forward and his agent seem to want a trade from Sacramento. Sources have told NBA Analysis Network that the Kings are open to trading Bagley, but they are wanting “first-round value” in return.
It is definitely going to be tough for the Kings to get this kind of value right now, but they could be interested in moving Marvin Bagley for a key veteran instead. Circling back to Robert Covington, he has struggled to begin the year, but he has always been known to be a great defensive player either on the wing or in the low-post.
If the Kings are interested in him, the Portland Trail Blazers should definitely show some interest in Bagley because of his fit next to guys like McCollum and Lillard. Being an athletic power forward, Marvin Bagley III would be a tough player to stop in pick-and-roll situations with the Blazers, especially since their two guards and high-level passers.

Moving Marvin Bagley is something the Kings intend on doing before this year’s trade deadline and being in the final year of his rookie contract, the 22-year-old forward could be someone the Trail Blazers are willing to take a risk on to upgrade their scoring/rebounding abilities in the frontcourt.
