What’s the Best Offer for Philadelphia 76ers to Consider?
With the season just starting and teams not looking to relinquish a lot of value right now, the best deal the Philadelphia 76ers can get for Ben Simmons is probably from either the Minnesota Timberwolves or the Sacramento Kings.
The Minnesota Timberwolves could offer up a trade package of D’Angelo Russell, Jaden McDaniels and draft picks for Simmons and Sacramento would probably be more than willing to offer up a trade package involving the likes of Buddy Hield and Marvin Bagley III.
Either way, the Sixers are losing value on a Ben Simmons trade, which is why they are dragging this whole situation out longer than many around the league expected. In October, Sixers’ president Daryl Morey was on the Mike Missanelli radio show on 97.5 The Fanatic and was very stern with his approach to this situation.
“You’re gonna think I’m kidding, I’m not. This could be four years,” Morey said. “Unless Ben Simmons is traded for a difference-maker, we are in the prime of Joel’s career, we have to get back either Ben Simmons playing well for us, that will help us win the championship, or we have to get back a difference-maker for Ben Simmons.”

This viewpoint is definitely understandable from the 76ers standpoint, as they do not want to relinquish their All-Star for little to no return value, but at the same time, are they really going to drag this out as long as Simmons is under contract?
This toxic situation in Philadelphia is not getting any better and has not gone anywhere in weeks, which is why neither Ben Simmons nor the 76ers as an organization have the upper hand in negotiations.
Simmons’ career is at risk here and no team in the league is wanting to deal with his drama right now and from the 76ers side of things, they are not going to get close to the value in a trade that they would like for him right now.
LATEST NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Frustration Mounting From 76ers With Ben Simmons Situation
With no end in sight in this conflict between player and management, the Philadelphia 76ers’ expectations for anything should be high right now. They need either Simmons or a high-level replacement to contend for a championship, as Joel Embiid, Tobias Harris, Seth Curry and others cannot do so right now.
