Would this trade make sense for the Orlando Magic?
The Orlando Magic were a postseason team in recent years but they were never taken seriously as a championship contender. This year, they made the transition and decided to sell at the NBA trade deadline. This jump-started the process and now, this is a deal that could continue the trend.
Mo Bamba was a lottery pick of Orlando but has been unable to find his identity. With his current age, there is plenty of value and that is what the Magic could take advantage of.
In this deal, the Magic would get plenty of draft capital in return. That is important for a team like Orlando looking to load up on assets for other deals down the line.
If the Magic are not going to keep Bamba long-term, it’s best to capitalize on the flashes he has shown. It wouldn’t hurt to add Bruce Brown and Jevon Carter as depth pieces while bringing in another second-round pick.
