Would this trade make sense for the New York Knicks?

The New York Knicks made some improvements this offseason but are still a bit unbalanced. The team has high hopes for Mitchell Robinson but he has continued to struggle to stay healthy.

Lately, the Knicks have struggled at the center position and this caused them to resign some depth. Nerlens Noel and Taj Gibson are strong pieces off the bench but they lack that true starting big man.

Randle has turned into a stretch big man who can step out and shoot the ball from three-point range on a consistent basis. Ayton is more of a traditional big that can defend the rim and score in the post — something the Knicks could benefit from long-term.

Ayton took the next step with Paul at the top of the offense and would be able to play with another strong backcourt in New York. This is a move that can completely balance the New York Knicks on both ends of the floor.
