Paul George Poised To Carry Clippers
The nightcap between the Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State Warriors provided fans with enough entertainment to make up for the two blowout losses earlier in the night. A night after Jaylen Brown and Julius Randle dueled at Madison Square Garden on national television, Paul George and Stephen Curry took centerstage.
Curry’s explosive first quarter came on the back of a 5-of-21 opening night performance. He scored 25 points without missing a shot, giving the Warriors a huge lead. But, George helped the Clippers respond and get them back in the game.
A lot of eyes will be on George this season as he will be doing a lot of the heavy lifting for the Clippers. With Kawhi Leonard sidelined for the foreseeable future, it will be George tasked with keeping them afloat.
While the Clippers didn’t get the victory, it was good to see him respond and help put the team in a position to win. If not for some Curry heroics late in the game, the comeback would have been completed.

George finished the game with 29 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, one steal, and only three turnovers. He was the only LA starter with a positive plus/minus ratio, finishing the game +3.
For the Clippers to remain competitive and in the playoff race in the Western Conference this season, they are going to need to see performances like this from George on a consistent basis.
