Health Concerns Mounting For Bucks
A bit of a letdown game for the Milwaukee Bucks against the Miami Heat was not surprising. Having their ring ceremony and raising their championship banner to the rafters of the Fiserv Forum was an emotional night. They may have beaten the Brooklyn Nets handily that night on the scoreboard, but they came away with some losses.
Starting point guard Jrue Holiday hurt his heel in the first half and was unable to return. He sat out the game against the Heat. Starting center Brook Lopez joined him on the sidelines as he was dealing with back stiffness.
The injuries are mounting for the Bucks, which isn’t encouraging. They joined other key players in Bobby Portis, Rodney Hood, Donte DiVincenzo, and Semi Ojeleye on the sidelines. By going into Miami that shorthanded, it is no surprise they lost as badly as they did.
The Bucks’ bench against the Heat were five players that likely will be inactive or racking up DNP-Coach’s Decision throughout the season. The Heat took advantage, as every second unit player finished the game with a plus/minus ratio of at least -12.

Alas, the outcome of that game isn’t what is important to the Bucks. If they suffer a few more blowout losses, so be it. They have bigger fish to fry with an eye toward defending their championship. At this point in the season, focusing on the health of their players is key.
