How This Trade Impacts Philadelphia 76ers
The Philadelphia 76ers like what Danny Green brings to the table. They aren’t going to just give him away as he is a key cog in their rotation. He is a great fit for the current makeup of the team as a floor spacer around Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid.
Regardless of what happens with Simmons, Green would still be a fit. But, if the roster is shaken up enough, he may become more expendable.
For the 76ers, the motivation behind this trade would be accumulating more assets to add to a trade package for a big-name player. The team has their eyes set on Damian Lillard and Bradley Beal, so acquiring younger players with some upside in Donte DiVincenzo and Jordan Nwora could help bolster the package.
DiVincenzo can replace a lot of what Green brought to the table but with more additions. He isn’t the level of defender or 3-point shooter that Green is, but brings more explosive offensive game and some playmaking to the table that Green doesn’t. He could step right into the starting lineup for the Philadelphia 76ers, giving them another player capable of running their offense should Simmons remain sidelined.

Rodney Hood would provide some more veteran depth on the wing. He is a solid 3-point shooter and spark plug offensively with his ability to score the ball. Nwora may struggle to crack the Philadelphia 76ers rotation, but showed in the preseason what he can do when given the opportunity.
Philadelphia loses a steady veteran in this deal in Danny Green but adds some more long-term upside with the younger players acquired. They aren’t going to shop him, but should an offer like this come across, they would think long and hard about accepting it.
