Miami Heat Receive: F Thaddeus Young
San Antonio Spurs Receive: F P.J. Tucker, F Markieff Morris, F KZ Okpala, PHI/DEN 2022 2nd Round Pick (More Favorable to SAS, via MIA)
Seeing as they are tight financially right now and do not have many assets to give up, the Miami Heat would almost definitely have to part ways with veterans P.J. Tucker and Markieff Morris, who they just signed in the offseason.
If Miami is to go after Thaddeus Young, they would not be able to do so until the middle of November when both Tucker and Morris are eligible to be traded.
When you look at the Heat’s roster as a whole, it is obvious to point out the three All-Star talents they have, but Tyler Herro, Duncan Robinson, and even Victor Oladipo stick out as key secondary talents. Oladipo’s return is in question right now due to surgery on his quad again, but the other two guys are terrific shooting threats on the perimeter.
The only questions about this team lie in the frontcourt next to Bam Adebayo, which is why they could show interest in Thaddeus Young. P.J. Tucker is coming off a run to the NBA Finals with the Milwaukee Bucks, but he is now 36-years-old and really is not much of a factor offensively. Markeiff Morris is 32-years-old and won a championship in 2020 with the Lakers, but his offensive game is very inconsistent as well.

Defense is something head coach Erik Spoelstra preaches to his teams and as a result, the additions of Tucker and Morris in the offseason make sense for the Heat, but Thaddeus Young can definitely hold his own defensively while also contributing on offense.
His 1.1 steals per game on the Bulls last season led the team and as the rest of his scoring stats show, Thad Young is more than capable of being a reliable bench scorer for a championship contender like the Heat. When you look at San Antonio though, they may not even be interested in what Miami has to offer.

Tyler Hero would be an appealing young player for them since they are rebuilding, but P.J. Tucker and Markeiff Morris really do not help them much. KZ Okpala is only 22-years-old and has shown flashes of his offensive potential on the wing, but he really has not impressed when given chances to the NBA-level with the Heat.
There are a handful of teams league-wide who are interested in potentially trading for Thaddeus Young, which could lead the Spurs to look elsewhere in a trade if they are not pleased with what the Heat can offer in this deal.
