Would this trade make sense for the New Orleans Pelicans?
New Orleans has clearly been trying to add the right pieces to the rotation. We saw this when they originally acquired Graham. If there is a chance to improve the perimeter further, we could see New Orleans take it.
This is one of those chances. Russell is a proven piece that could become a focal point of the offense. In Minnesota, he does not have much of a future, especially if they are rebuilding once again.
The Pelicans could provide him with a steady home, which he has not found since being taken with the second-overall pick back in 2015.
New Orleans has plenty of work to do if they want to build a winner but adding Russell next to Williamson is not the worst start. He has experience playing with impact big men and this could be another chance.
