Would this trade make sense for the Dallas Mavericks?
The Dallas Mavericks have turned into a postseason team in the Western Conference. With Luka Doncic in the fold, the team needs to set their sights much higher than just to make it. Now, there needs to be a move made to help get beyond the first round, and quickly.
There are a couple of moves the Mavericks front office could look into. It starts with whether or not Kristaps Porzingis is viewed as a power forward or center long-term. It was confirmed that he will start at the four spot to begin the season, so where is the defensive impact going to come from?
Additionally, there were rumors that Porzingis was unhappy with the current situation in Dallas next to Doncic. The narrative now is that having a new head coach in Jason Kidd has renewed optimism, but regardless, is he a true answer at the five spot going forward?
If the Mavericks are able to flip it around in Myles Turner, it improves the frontcourt right away. Turner has turned into a defensive anchor down low. This could be the balance they are looking for as they take the next step in a different Western Conference.

The Mavericks have Doncic, who is one of the best players in the league. This means that they are going to be in contention for the years to come but that does not mean that they don’t have to add more pieces around him.
