Who will step up in Toronto?
For the last nine seasons, Kyle Lowry has been the leader of the Toronto Raptors, but this offseason, the veteran point guard decided to leave Toronto and join the Miami Heat. With the All-Star guard now gone and the Raptors also trading Norman Powell last season, this Toronto Raptors team is going to have a new look to it.
Pascal Siakam and Fred VanVleet are going to step into leadership roles for this team and they do have Goran Dragic as a key veteran on their roster, but overall, this Raptors team is still very young and unproven.
Who will step up for the Raptors is the main question being asked right now, as they do not really have any reliable talent outside of Siakam and VanVleet.
OG Anunoby is a player who is expected to take a major leap this season and be a potential Most Improved Player candidate come season’s end. Last year, Anunoby was utilized all over the course and finished the regular season averaging 15.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals and he shot 39.8% from three-point range.

Chris Boucher, Gary Trent Jr., and rookie Scottie Barnes will also look to prove that they can be high-level, secondary talents for this Raptors team, but all three guys definitely have some question marks surrounding them entering the new year.
With Siakam still recovering from offseason shoulder surgery and likely out to begin the season, the Raptors are going to have to lean heavily on some of their young talents since Fred VanVleet cannot carry this team on his own.
