Bonus Comparison: Trevor Ariza

Talking with The Athletic’s Tim Kawakami, head coach Steve Kerr discussed his team’s two rookies and talked about the impact Moses Moody could bring to this team. Kerr stated that he believes Moses Moody can be a “3-and-D” player in this league and brought up Trevor Ariza as a name that sticks out to him when watching Moody play.

“I keep saying Trevor Ariza in terms of the body type, the arm length, the shooting ability and obviously the intelligence,” Kerr said in regards to his rookie shooting guard. “Obviously, Ariza has had a great career and hopefully Moody has something similar. Moody looks like a guy who belongs on the NBA court and obviously, he’s still really young.”

Heading into training camp, Moses Moody will definitely have a lot of eyes on him and the Warriors’ entire training staff is going to be focusing on not only getting him ready for the regular season but making him stronger and quicker mentally as well.

The NBA is a much different, faster-paced game than the likes of college and AAU ball, so it could take a handful of time for the Warriors’ rookies to get acclimated to a new system and especially get comfortable playing at the highest level possible.

Golden State has two really impressive looking rookies on their roster and while Moses Moody may not see a lot of time during his rookie season, he is definitely a guy who could have a big impact off-the-bench for many years to come, especially if he grows into a player like Danny Green, Kyle Korver or Trevor Ariza.
