Does this trade make sense for Minnesota Timberwolves?

If they can keep both Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards, then the Minnesota Timberwolves should be willing to do any other deal possible to acquire Ben Simmons.

Pairing him with these two guys would finally make the Timberwolves a team to watch in the Western Conference, something they have not been since Kevin Garnett was on the Timberwolves.

Ultimately, it looks like Minnesota is going to be the team that ends up with Ben Simmons. Still, the main question is what they would have to give up and what other teams will be involved since the Philadelphia 76ers want another All-Star talent in return for Simmons.

Depending on what other teams get involved, there is the possibility of the Timberwolves keeping D’Angelo Russell, but focusing solely on this deal, Minnesota would be smart to make this trade with Philadelphia because of the upside Ben Simmons possesses.

He can be labeled as a liability at times on offense, but surrounded by other key young talents on the Timberwolves’ roster, Simmons could really focus on what makes him a great player instead of having to fit the mold the 76ers have been trying to keep him in over the years.

This pairing with Minnesota could work out quite well, even if they have to give up many future assets to make this trade a reality. Ben Simmons has the potential to be the best two-way star in the NBA, and since he is only 25-years-old, he still has plenty of time to grow.
