Sacramento Kings Receive: F/G Ben Simmons
Philadelphia 76ers Receive: G Buddy Hield, F/C Marvin Bagley, 2022 First-Round Pick, 2024 First-Round Pick

The Sacramento Kings are looking to make a splash and they do so with this trade. They land Ben Simmons in the deal, as he is reportedly open to being traded to any of the California teams.

The Kings are sending back a package that might seem underwhelming but could be the best that the 76ers can muster given the current situation. Fans would be disappointed by this deal, but this is likely the best that Sacramento will offer if they stand by their guns and don’t trade De’Aaron Fox or Tyrese Haliburton.

The 76ers receive sharpshooter Buddy Hield as the headliner in this deal. He will fit in well into their offensive scheme as another floor spacer for Joel Embiid.

Joining him is Marvin Bagley III, the No. 2 overall pick from the 2018 NBA Draft. He has failed to live up to the expectations of a No. 2 overall pick, especially when a transcendent star in Luka Doncic was selected after him.

Philadelphia would be getting a look at him before he enters restricted free agency next offseason. The organization would also be receiving two future first-round draft picks in 2022 and 2024.

Those first-round picks could be used to bolster a trade package for another All-Star caliber player as the 76ers are still looking to contend whether Simmons suits up or not.

How does each team feel about this deal? Let’s take a deeper dive, beginning with the Kings.
