There is a lot to unpack in this trade. For starters, the centerpiece of the deal, Ben Simmons, lands with the Washington Wizards. He and Bradley Beal are now the faces of the franchise after the departure of Russell Westbrook this offseason.
Anthony Tolliver and Isaiah Joe are included to help match salaries, as the Wizards were sending out more than they were getting back in return.
The package the 76ers are receiving is a big one. While not as talent-laden as what they asked the Golden State Warriors and Toronto Raptors for in exchange for Simmons, this is still a huge package to get in return.
Spencer Dinwiddie is coming off of ACL surgery after playing in only three games but will assume the starting point guard role in Philadelphia. Corey Kispert was Washington’s first-round pick in 2021.

That gives Philadelphia solid building blocks for the future, along with the two future first-round picks. The 76ers have a multitude of directions they could go in with all of the assets they acquired in the deal.
Davis Bertans may not be a household name, but that is a good get for Philadelphia as well. His 3-point shooting will play nicely in the frontcourt alongside Joel Embiid.
