Maybe the exit of Rosas leads to the Timberwolves being more willing to include one of their stars?
Amid the rumors of the Timberwolves being interested in Ben Simmons, Rosas has been adamant about not including one of D’Angelo Russell, Anthony Edwards, or Towns in the trade.
Minnesota would prefer to keep their core intact while being able to add a player like Simmons into the mix. While the Timberwolves would have loved to get Simmons without parting ways with one of their key pieces, it is why the Philadelphia 76ers didn’t move forward with a trade involving Minnesota.
With Rosas no longer being in the picture, perhaps the front office becomes more open to moving one of their marquee players for Simmons. Russell and Edwards would be the two players that make the most sense as Towns is the best player the Timberwolves currently have to build around.
On top of that, it’s unlikely that Philadelphia would want Towns with Joel Embiid already at the center position.
LATEST NBA NEWS & RUMORS: Ben Simmons Rejects 76ers’ Last-Ditch Effort To Salvage Relationship
Time is ticking for the 76ers to conduct a trade involving Simmons if they want to get a package that can help them this season. The Timberwolves have been listed as potential suitors, but their disinterest in including Russell or Edwards has prevented a move from happening.
Even though Morey has a previous relationship with Rosas, maybe both sides can now work out a deal that makes both sides content.
