Houston Rockets
The Houston Rockets were interested in acquiring Ben Simmons when they were shopping James Harden last offseason. It seems their interest in him didn’t wane, as the Rockets have emerged as a possible landing spot.
The Rockets’ interest in Simmons when shopping Harden last year made sense and still makes sense now. They are a young team looking for a young potential star to help bring the team along. However, from the 76ers’ side of things, these rumors make very little sense.
John Wall has been mentioned as the player coming back to Philadelphia in these NBA trade rumors. His fit with the team is a questionable one, at best. Wall looked decent last season after returning from injury, as the counting stats were there.
He would help put pressure on opposing defenses with his attacking style, giving the 76ers another scoring option on the perimeter. But, he won’t help with their spacing, as he is a career 32.3 percent shooter from the 3-point line. His defense is also not near what it used to be before his injury.

Given the kind of packages that the 76ers asked for earlier in the offseason in exchange, accepting one built around Wall would be shocking.
There are likely better packages available out there, as one from the Houston Rockets would likely be draft pick-heavy. Philadelphia wants to continue contending, not stockpile draft picks, and missing out on more prime years of Joel Embiid.
