San Antonio Spurs
The San Antonio Spurs would work wonders for the development of Ben Simmons. If there is an organization that can make the most of the potential that he has, it is the Spurs. However, his fit with the team would be an odd one.
San Antonio doesn’t have the spacing necessary to help Simmons succeed on offense. They made and attempted the fewest 3-pointers in the NBA last season.
Doug McDermott was signed in free agency and will help those numbers, but they will likely remain in the bottom third of the NBA in 3-point shooting.
Simmons wouldn’t even be able to step into the role vacated by DeMar DeRozan. DeRozan was a point forward for the San Antonio Spurs, leading the team in scoring and assists. He played a lot of power forward and lacks a 3-point shot. But, he is an elite mid-range scorer, something Simmons is not.

There is no doubting the ceiling Simmons has, but the Spurs would have a lot of work left to build a winning roster around him. They could use a player with some star power, but Simmons may not be the best fit for them.
