How This Trade Impacts Philadelphia 76ers
The Philadelphia 76ers are focusing on the Ben Simmons trade, but this is one they would have to think long and hard about doing. Given the current situation with Simmons, the team doesn’t have someone ready to assume the role as starting point guard.
As a result, trading Tyrese Maxey would likely be a no-go. Maxey played some backup point guard for the 76ers last season and would be one of the options to take over should Simmons hold out and trade isn’t made.
But, Maxey shares an agent with Simmons. He wants Maxey out of Philadelphia along with Simmons. If the 76ers want to cut ties with Rich Paul and Klutch altogether, this trade would be a no-brainer.
Cam Reddish has struggled to find his footing thus far in the NBA, appearing in only 84 regular-season games in two seasons. When he has been on the floor, the results haven’t been very good, either. But the four games he played against the Milwaukee Bucks in the postseason show how much potential he has.

A 64.3 3-point shooting percentage will never be sustained, but it is a glimpse into the shooter he is capable of being. He averaged 12.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.5 steals in 23 minutes per game against the reigning champion Milwaukee Bucks.
At 6’8”, he would give Philadelphia another lengthy defender for their stifling defense. He has prototypical two-way size on the wing to be a difference-maker on both ends of the court.

Acquiring him along with a 2023 second-round pick would be tough for Philadelphia to turn down despite losing another point guard option in the deal.
