Does this trade make sense for Oklahoma City Thunder?

I mean, why not make this trade if you are the Thunder? Jeremy Lamb could help develop some of the young wings on this roster, and he is in the final season of his contract, so the Thunder would not have to worry about paying him long-term. 

Plus, as mentioned before, they need to add some heavier contracts to their roster to reach the $102M salary cap floor the league has for this season, and Oklahoma City is well under this threshold right now.

Bringing in Lamb in this trade adds an extra $8.5M in salaries for the 2021-22 season, which helps OKC. 

This trade also brings the Thunder yet another draft pick, giving them a total of five draft picks in the 2022 NBA Draft.

Lamb’s contract would also get absorbed into the $12.8M TPE they have from trading Trevor Ariza to the Miami Heat last season, which is set to expire on February 3, 2022.
