Damian Lillard – Portland Trail Blazers

While Damian Lillard has said that he is remaining loyal to the Portland Trail Blazers and is not going anywhere anytime soon, there were a lot of rumors in the offseason about Lillard possibly already having one foot out the door.

He wants to win in Portland, but the Blazers have not really done anything to get their MVP candidate the help he needs, which is why Damian Lillard could wind up leaving at some point. 

If the Trail Blazers begin the 2021-22 season terribly and they are really struggling by midseason, it is definitely not crazy to believe that Dame could request a trade before the trade deadline. Again, this likely will not happen, but if he is available, the Miami Heat will be “all-in” on the idea of trading for him, as they were earlier this offseason. 

The Heat would most likely have to trade Tyler Herro, Bam Adebayo and some draft picks if this trade was just a two-team deal, but Miami would almost definitely look to bring in one or two other teams to try and get other players involved so they can keep Adebayo.

Who knows what this trade package would look like, but if Lillard is available, then the Heat will be interested with almost every other team in the league. 

Seeing as they just brought in Kyle Lowry this offseason, it seems unlikely that the Heat would actually be able to financially make this trade, but talent-wise, Damian Lillard is the key player Pat Riley would want to pair with Jimmy Butler.

We have seen the Heat make crazier moves in the past like when they were able to sign LeBron James, so hey, anything is possible in this league! Damian Lillard is the best trade target for the Miami Heat and pretty much every other team in the NBA should he become available ahead of the trade deadline.
