Atlanta Hawks
The Atlanta Hawks made a surprise trip to the Eastern Conference Finals this season. They ultimately fell to the Milwaukee Bucks in six games, but the foundation is laid for them to be successful in the future.
There will be some difficult decisions to make, as things are going to get very expensive soon for the Hawks. Trae Young and John Collins signed lucrative deals this offseason and there will be more on the horizon.
The Hawks have three players, Cam Reddish, Kevin Huerter, and De’Andre Hunter, that can sign extensions between now and the start of the 2022-23 season as well. One of those players can be used in a deal, along with a contract the Hawks are looking to move off of, to acquire Buddy Hield.
Sacramento would love to have a player from the Hawks such as Reddish, who is closer to the timeline of the team and fills a need on the wing. It means taking back someone such as Danilo Gallinari to pull it off, they likely wouldn’t hesitate.

Hield is locked into a long-term deal of his own, but it is of the de-escalating variety. So, his annual contract drops approximately $2 million each season during the length of the contract. If Atlanta thinks he will be a fit for what they are doing, he is a good target to set their sights on.
